pmarcai.com changes playback speed by speaker in supported YouTube episodes. This policy explains the limited information the extension and website process to provide that feature.
Information used by the extension
- YouTube video IDs: the extension reads the current YouTube video URL to extract its public video ID. It sends that ID to pmarcai.com to check whether a speaker timeline exists. This check also happens for unsupported videos. It does not access Chrome's stored browsing history.
- Player state and activity: playback position, playback rate, seeking events and the player's advertisement state are processed locally to apply the appropriate speed. The extension does not download, record or upload your video or audio.
- Speed preferences: your two chosen speeds are stored using Chrome storage. If Chrome sync is enabled, Google may synchronise these settings across your browsers. The speeds are not sent to pmarcai.com.
Network requests and hosting
The extension requests a JSON timeline over HTTPS at
pmarcai.com/api/timeline/<videoId>.json.
The requested path contains the video ID. It may repeat this request to
check for newly available or corrected timelines.
Cloudflare hosts pmarcai.com. Like other hosting services, it receives your IP address and technical request information, including the requested path, time and HTTP headers, to deliver the service and protect it against abuse. This information may be included in operational or security logs; it should not be assumed to be anonymous. We do not use it for advertising or to build personal viewing profiles. Cloudflare's handling and retention of service information are described in its privacy policy.
Purpose and sharing
Extension data is used only to provide and maintain speaker-based playback, remember your preferences and secure the service. Service providers process information necessary for hosting and Chrome sync. We do not sell user data, use it for personalised advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness. We do not transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
pmarcai.com's use and transfer of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Human access to extension user data is limited to circumstances allowed by that policy, such as investigating security issues or support with your consent.
Retention and your choices
The extension temporarily caches coverage results in memory. That cache is not a permanent browsing-history database and is discarded when its service worker is stopped. Speed preferences remain in Chrome storage until cleared or the extension is removed; Chrome sync is controlled by your browser settings. Uninstalling the extension stops its requests and playback changes. Hosting-provider log retention follows the applicable service configuration and provider policies.
Accounts, cookies and other information
The extension has no pmarcai.com account system, advertising or analytics code. It does not request your name, email, payment details, health information, passwords, messages or GPS location. It does not read or transmit your YouTube login cookies or account credentials.
Website and external links
The website loads episode thumbnails from YouTube's image service, which receives the usual network information for those image requests. Its fonts are hosted on pmarcai.com. Opening YouTube, an episode-request link on X, or the Alexandria credit link takes you to a separate service governed by its own privacy policy.
On an unsupported video, choosing the extension's episode-request link opens a draft post on X containing the video URL. You decide whether to publish it. The extension does not post automatically.
